So apparently coffee could be an anti-depressant. I did suspect this actually!

Personally I fall right into the middle of that J curve – about 5 or 6 cups a day. And I’d say I’m a pretty happy person and mentally healthy!
It would be interesting to see what sort of coffee was being drunk in these trials – brewed, espresso or instant, as they all have different levels of caffeine. The fact that tea/cola/chocolate consumption does not correlate in the same way implies there is more at work here than just the caffeine though.
